Michael Datko PhD

Dr. Datko is a Research Scientist and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and has appointments at the Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Mindfulness and Compassion and at the MGH Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging in addition to Spaulding. He earned a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego. His research is focused on investigating the relationship between interoceptive awareness and chronic pain conditions such as migraine, and how mind-body interventions such as mindfulness-based stress reduction impact brain mechanisms of interoception among individuals with chronic pain, mood disorders, and anxiety. In his free time, he enjoys biking, photography, creating and listening to music, and making sourdough bread.
