The Napadow Lab welcomed two new post docs this past fall! Alessandra Anzolin comes to us from Sapienza University of Rome where she obtained her PhD in Bioengineering, focusing on EEG signals to study how stroke and neurofeedback treatment impact cognitive functions. During the summer of 2018, Alessandra also worked as a research fellow at a Neuroelectrical Imaging and BCI lab within Fondazione Santa Lucio Hospital (Rome, Italy). In the Napadow Lab, she brings her expertise to the EEG/fNIRS Hyperscanning project to explore the neural correlates of the Patient-Clinician relationship during pain treatment. Michael Datko similarly combined imaging methods such as EEG and MRI with neurofeedback during his PhD dissertation where he examined brain networks and structure related to social imitation in autism. Given his additional experience with Mindfulness Meditation as a Postdoctoral Associate at UMASS Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, Michael is working on the Mindful RAVANS project which will investigate mindfulness meditation and transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation in migraine. Great to have you both on board!
